Fire Safety Awareness and Extinguishers (Technical/Practical)
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for all members of staff.
What’s involved?
The course is designed to provide students with a sound awareness of ‘Fire Safety’ the course ensures employees understand how to operate an extinguisher safely and effectively in the event of a fire.
The course offers hands on experience of tackling a fire with the use of a fire extinguisher on environmentally friendly, controlled live fire training scenarios. These include, TV/computer monitor, fuel spill, waste paper bin and cooking pot. (please note an external area of approx 3 car spaces is required to conduct this practical session).
Students will identify the different types of extinguishers and understand their suitability to deal with different fire types, the method of operation and their capabilities and limitations.
What are the outcomes?
This practical experience provides the student with the knowledge and confidence to tackle an out break of fire in the work place should the need arise.

Fire Marshal/Warden (Technical/Practical)
Who should attend?
The current legislation requires places of work to have a certain number of trained Fire Marshals / Fire Wardens in place.
This half day (4 hour) training course is suitable for existing fire wardens/marshals and their deputies, managers, supervisors and any member of staff that has specific responsibilities towards fire safety.
What’s involved?
It covers the fire safety information required by the fire warden/marshal including, legal obligation, risk assessment and building design features and provides them with the skills and knowledge to carry out their duties effectively. The course covers
both practical and theoretical elements and may be tailored to suit customer requirements.
What are the outcomes?
A short written test is conducted to confirm understanding of input. Test papers and results are returned for personnel files. Course notes and handouts are issued to each student for future reference.

Who should attend?
This course is suitable for all members of staff and is particularly good for persons that have not received fire training before as well as serving as an essential refresher.
The law requires all personnel whether employed, temporary or voluntary to have adequate fire training. Attendance on the Fire Safety Awareness Course will result in compliance with fire safety legislation.
What’s involved?
The aim of the course being to ensure staff have a sound knowledge of fire prevention measures, a greater awareness of the danger of fire and how to prevent fires from occurring.
What are the outcomes?
Those attending will be better prepared and know what to do should fire break out.
